Separation anxiety

Hi all, just wondering if anyone had advice or similar situation. I have 11 month old twin boys, generally happy smiley babies but one twin has recently developed terrible separation anxiety at night. He is very happy during bath, story time etc but as soon as we leave the room, he screams. We tried leaving him last night until he was really tired and that worked (he fell straight to sleep) but then woke up every 30 minutes from midnight. I've tried both soothing him (so I go in, pick him up, he stops crying, I rock him to sleep, as soon as I put him back in cot he starts screaming again) and also controlled crying (go in every 5,10,15...mins and pat him on the back, shush him - my visits seem to make the crying louder!). This has been going on for about 6 nights now with no sign of let up and we're exhausted. The only thing I can do is bring him into the spare bed with me but I think this just prolongs the problem and I feel I need to tackle it so he overcomes it. Any suggestions most welcome - we're desperate!! 😭😭 By the way, the other twin sleeps right through all the noise 😴👍

I wish there was a magic wand. My LG won’t go to sleep with out me and if I’m lucky she won’t wake up when I put her down. She’s typically fine during the day but can sometimes behave the same. If we do bedtime and I just put her down she’ll scream non stop until I get her again, she’s 13 months now and I can’t see any sign of it stopping. I know it’s not the advice you wanted but wanted to let you know you’re not alone in this
