So I’ve worked out I’m 5 weeks, going to doctors to confirm tomorrow. Just wanting some advice really on symptoms.

So morning sickness is a biggy that thing will not go away it’s horrible, I really don’t know what to do to get rid.

I’m eating all the time to try and not feel sick but then eating makes it worse sometimes.

Also when is it that you have food diversions or what ever it’s called? I love fish and chips, like I’m sure plenty of us do. Had this today at a cafe with family and I only had half the fish and felt too full.

Advice if possible?

Tia x

Congratulations on your pregnancy !

If sickness is constant and you can’t keep the food down then anti sickness pill would help. I am 12 weeks now and have taken some. Found them a relief but felt very sleepy afterwards. With food aversion you’ve got to take one day at a time like with any of the pregnancy symptoms. You might find that one day you love to eat fish and chips and next you can’t stand them. Just listen to your body and how you feel. I found that fatty food was making me feel more sick and I only home cooked meals. Had some periods eating whole grain crackers and that really helped especially first thing in the morning and at night if I couldn’t sleep due to frequent visits to the loo. Having smaller meals is better as I am hungry most of the time so if I had big meal and then snack an hour later I was snot feeling very well. Try to read some info online.. I find useful the site ‘what to expect’ as it explains all symptoms and baby development week by week.

Hope you feel better soon. x

I had food aversions around the 8 week mark, went off of tea too ! Was devastated. There are a lot of ways to help your morning sickness, try eating something dry in a morning to settle your stomach such as dry toast, or eat things that contain ginger or mint as they help settle your stomach. And try and get as much rest as you can as tiredness can make nausea worse ! You could also try eating different things, for example when I was about 12 weeks I went off of cold food completely it made me feel sick, all of the food I had had to be piping hot or I couldn’t stomach it ! Carbs also settle your stomach a lot more than fats. If it gets too much speak to your doctor as they can give you some tablets for it! Also make sure to sip water so you’re both not dehydrated, good luck !! Xxx

I found that ginger tablets or ginger biscuits helped my sickness, also sickness bands on my wrists! I did also try an aromatherapy oil infused with ginger and placed some on my chest during pregnancy. I had a very bad pregnancy experience and was sick for quite some time so these tricks helped make it bearable for me. The sickness caused my appetite to go down quite a lot, I ended up having to eat a lot of dry toast and crackers etc and drink gallons of water! I wish I would have embraced my pregnancy journey a lot more than I did as I admittedly spent 70% of it moaning about every symptom i was getting. Good luck to you and if you need any more advice then I'll be happy to help xx
