Help anyone😩

Basically I’m 38+4 and the whole way through pregnancy I feel I have been so happy been really lucky with minimal side effects and super excited as first baby, the last few days I have never been so down in the dumps and sad, desperate to get my body back and want this baby out now. I’m soooooo tired, completely gone off food and any time anyone talks I just find it so annoying and irritable. I’m now starting to worry what I’ll be like when the baby comes. As all excitement has vanished. I’ve never had depression but feel like I’m bordering this and just don’t know what to do. Anyone else experience this near the end. Any help or advice really appreciated as totally at a loss right now?

Thanks

Maybe drop your midwife a call/text and arrange an appointment, and have a chat with her about how you’re feeling - she might be able to help you talk through how your feeling or direct you in the way of someone that can.

With both my first (2years old) and now my second (32wks), my anxiety presented much like this - i was fine after having him, but it did become apparent that I wasn’t myself during pregnancy (especially towards the end)

Hope this helps 😊

I’m a week behind you and sometimes feel the same. One minute I’m really excited the next just feeling overwhelmed and feel a bit withdrawn. The key is to just talk to someone! But I feel it’s more common than you think xx

At 38/39 weeks I was permanently tired, had zero energy or enthusiasm for anything. I felt like I should be doing all the nesting things but had no desire or energy to do them. It was hot I was big and uncomfortable.

So I definitely don't think you're alone in not feeling great the last few weeks of pregnancy. I had had a super easy pregnancy up to then, no sickness, no real aches or pains.

I think if you're still worried and not feeling yourself you should speak to your midwife, Gp or maybe have a chat with your partner and don't feel bad about getting the support you need. It's a super tough time and your body is going through so much.
