If I recall from teenage years the morning after pill needs to be taken within 24 or 48 hours of having had sex? (Ie morning after..)

Seeing as your period is late I’d say it’s too late for the morning after pill. Rather than ending a potential pregnancy, it might just cause the baby to form abnormally? I would not take any pills at your stage now until I knew whether or not I was pregnant - and with your period being late you should be able to find out easily with a pregnancy test, and without having consulted a professional!

You wouldn’t get a pill unless you have confirmed pregnancy. You can’t buy those pills over the counter as the use of those have to be monitored. I would recommend that you take pregnancy test and if positive speak with the doctor about your options.

First of all I would call it an abortion pill, and least of all on a forum such as here where it might be a sensitive topic with women struggling to conceive or have lost babies in pregnancy.

You’re not inducing a period either...

Presumably you’re talking about the ‘morning after pill’ to prevent you getting pregnant in the first place rather than ending a pregnancy? If it is a pill to end a pregnancy that does exist I would assume you’d have been given this by a hospital following a consultation with a Gp. If that’s the medication you have I’d address any questions at them directly. Certainly there’d be bleeding if you ended a pregnancy... it wouldn’t be a period though as such.

If it’s the morning after pill then I don’t know.

If your talking about the morning after pill ... emergency contraception, that can only be taken up to 3 or 5 days (depends on type) of unprotected sex. No point taking after that as will not work. If you think you're pregnant because your period is late 1. Get a pregnancy test and decide what are going to do. If in the UK you can not buy abortion tablets from a pharmacy, nor can a gp prescribe them as it has to be via a clinic where they will do an ultrasound and counsel you first
