Teething or something else?!

My little boy (15months old) got a high temperature during the night Saturday into Sunday and would only sleep in my arms as he refused to sleep in his cot. Throughout Sunday he had milk and nibbled away on some food but nowhere near as much ad he would usually eat and refused dinner. He ended up sleeping on the couch as I watched TV at night because again he refused to sleep in his cot. His temperature was up and down, he was drooling loads, has spots around his mouth and not his usual self. Sunday into Monday, his sleeping was the same, wouldn’t sleep in his cot, slept with me, only drank 4oz of milk this morning, gave him one dose of calpol and he’s not drinking much at all, nappy was on for 5 hours before i changed it hoping it would be wetter than it was, not wanting to eat anything and again, not his usual self.

We are waiting for a phone call from the doctors with the hope of getting an appointment but does this sound like a really bad case of teething or possibly a viral infection?

Thank you
