Car seat recommendations please!

There's so much choice my mind is imploding! So, please may I have your tried and tested car seat recommendations? Ideally we're looking for something that will suit him until he's 4 (18kg/105cm, I think this is the group 0+/1 ?)

The 360° bases look helpful but do they really make that much difference?

All recommendations gratefully received. Thank you!! xx

We have the maxi cosi 2. We were told not sure if correct that the law changed at start of year. Previously car seats hadn’t been tested for side impact only front and rear. This car seat has been tested for side impact and if you feel the original one to this one you will see the amount of extra protection xx

We started off with the silver cross baby carrier as it came with the pram. Then we bought a joie that would last til 12 years old which was ok but annoying to get them in. When our car got written off we were allowed a new car seat up to £300 so bought a joie 360 spin and OMG it’s amazing. So easy to get in and out and love that it’s isofix as the other joie wasn’t and it never felt secure enough xx

I second this. We bought the new Joie 360 spin when my daughter turned 1 and it’s amazing. Wish we had got it when she was a newborn, although it can be useful having a car seat that fits onto your pram wheels initially especially if you’re just nipping to the shops and baby has fallen asleep! X

I so miss being able to just pop the car seat on wheels. They always seem to fall asleep at the wrong time 😂 xx

We have the maxicosi. It depends on your pram and whether you want to attach the car seat onto the frame. I must say, my mind was swimming with research and suggestions but I finally went into John Lewis and they narrowed it down to 2, and gave demonstrations and checked to see if they would fit both mine and husbands car. Can't fault them, there was no pressure selling just advice. Would recommend popping in for a look if you have a store near you. I'd been thinking about it for weeks and had decided within a few days. Best wishes x

Maxi cosi pebble plus was great for us when he was little as it clipped straight on to the pram (with adaptors). Meant he wasn’t disturbed if he was asleep and we needed to go anywhere. I did look at the ones you can use from birth up to four years but I was put off by how upright they keep baby which isn’t good for a newborn. After the maxi cosi was outgrown I got a britax romer dualfix m i-size - it spins and it is fantastic. So comfy for baby/toddler and I love how easy it is to get baby in and out of the car xx

I’ve got the Joie 360 spin. It’s brilliant. The spin makes it so much easier to get baby in out of the car. It’s heavy so not as easy to swap between cars but it’s not difficult to do so. I’ve been using it for a year, since my daughter was a newborn, and wouldn’t have anything else.

I had maxi cosi first infant car seats up until my girls couldn’t fit it any longer . I now have the joie car seat . It’s crash tested to a relevant standard and reasonably priced . X
