My LG is starting to teeth, we have noticed it the last few weeks, but last couple of days she’s been dribbling loads and will cry then stick her fist in mouth and then will stop.

We have dentinox teething gel, which we have started using today, she’s too young for bonjela. Was just wondering, could I give her calpol, I know we can give it too them, but how bad does it have too be?

I hate seeing her in pain and uncomfortable

She’s 15weeks, it’s horrible when she just cry’s from no where, which she’s been doing a lot lately and won’t take her milk and takes ages to settle her.

I would rather give it too her before it gets worse, even if it was just once a day x

the stuff I got is fron 2 months old but me personally would give calpol as it last longer where as bonjela only last until the numbness runs out then your be addibg more if she really bad x

Would it be okay, if I could gave her it like once a day until she gets really bad? x

in reply to Annh17

I don’t see why not. It’s not like you’ll give it regularly. I always found the night time worse and gave it then. It’s not nice for them at all xx

I talked the pharmacist and the doctor about that! Completely fine as long as you follow the dosages they said. X

She’s not in pain all the time, was only thinking of giving her some when I know she’s in pain, so may only be 1 dose a day x

Even if she needed the max dosage she would be fine. My son started teething young about 7 weeks old. And towards the end of 5 months, he started needing more than 1 a day (suffers terrible even the doctor says there is nothing more I can try) x

Good morning, I swear by Anbesol it numbs it straight away and you can use it from birth. X

My LG is 2months and we think she's starting to teeth as the last couple of days she'll just cry and go off her milk but likes to have something to suck on so she's having her dummy a lot more now and when we rub her gums she let's you, but she has also been dribbling for weeks. So we gave her calpol at night and only started that Dentinox yesterday so we shall see how she copes. I don't know if those Amber bracelets work some people swear by them.

Amber bracelets; just be careful because anything is a choking hazard especially when teething x

Cant they be put on the ankles? I havnt got one yet just looking into them as some say they also help for reflux and colic which my LG suffers with. X

This oxford article details the dangers of amber teething necklaces/bracelets. X

They can yes but some how my son's foot has always been near his mouth. If it breaks off by chance it can block the airway. x

My LG is a little over 4 months and her first tooth just came through. We used Calpol and teething toys you can put in the fridge. I also used Ashton’s powder you get from boots as I had read some negative things about teething gels. X it’s horrible to see them in pain, they say it’s worse at night as they don’t have the distractions so Calpol is perfect.

Out LG at the moment seems to be worse in the afternoon, that’s her big nap of the day and at the moment it’s disturbing her. Are the teething toys okay too put in fridge, what about sterilising them?? x

Yes the ones with gel inside them such as NUBY keys go in the fridge and you just wash with soap and warm water. However if you find soft or hard plastic ones, I wash them with soap and hot water and put them in the freezer much more cooling x

Yeah I only put them in the fridge if that’s what they are specially for. We have the nuby keys and a few others, they seem to soothe her.

I might have too get some of these, was just worried about the bacteria on them from being in the fridge x

This one comes in a case that I got so you don’t need to worry. You can though just rest them on some kitchen roll.

Not really answering your question here but I found Nelson's teething powder to be a life saver with my son. I was at my wits end due to the sleepless nights and after giving him that he slept!!
