Contraception after a baby

I’ve recently had a baby and I’m thinking about contraception. I don’t get on with progesterone only contraception so injection, implant and mini pill are out as is the progesterone coil.

My choices seem to be at the moment the combined pill or the copper coil. What are people’s experiences of the copper coil? I’m tempted to go for the copper coil as I don’t really want to go on hormonal pills again on a long term basis.. and I’m also 36 so need to think about that too.

I don’t get periods on my own due to having polycystic ovaries and my gp at my 6 week check didn’t really have any advice. Am I better off going to a sexual health clinic to get advice?

Thanks.
