Be great to get peoples opinions on a mattress for a swinging crib?

Also, what brand of formula did your baby prefer?

Thanks x

Mattress wise make sure it fits the crib, mothercare do a good one for about £35

Formula wise you’d only need the first infant formula until baby is a year. My baby refuses it, she’s fully breast fed atm.

It doesn’t matter which you use they are all the same basic product. But the cost varies dramatically. Dispatches recently did a program on it an interesting watch.

I was just going to reply and say I watched the dispatches program too and it said they all had the same main ingredients! x

I got a mattress off amazon which fitted well think it was about £20?. I just checked the reviews before ordering. We used a Moses basket then a swinging crib for first baby. However this second baby Im using the basket then a next to me style crib. Means I don’t even need to get out the bed for feeds in the night! :)

I breast fed I didn’t want to use any formula so I’ve never bought any.

But if you do use some I would also recommend watching the Dispatches documentary mentioned about. They are essentially all the same. I think it was called the great formula milk scandal. Basically most of it is unproven/false claims /marketing with the expensive ones.

I can't comment on the mattress but I recently saw a documentary on channel 4 (Kate Quilton - Dispatches, was called something like 'the great formula milk scandal), and basically all formulas are basically the same as they have to be, as they are regulated. So don't necessarily buy into the whole Aptimil/Cow and Gate thing, they are the most expensive bit are actually made by the same company! The general gist was that you don't have to buy expensive brands as formula milk is all the same.

Good luck with your new baby!

We used aptamil to start with but moved on to Aldi’s own which cost half the amount of aptamil x
