Early onset placental insufficiency (currently 22 weeks)

Hi everyone

We’ve been told our baby is measuring small (around 5th centile overall) and the likely cause is early onset placental insufficiency. We are being scanned regularly and they will do a C-section when they think is the right time. They are fairly sure the baby will be premature due to its size. We had a scan last week when the consultant seemed pleased that the baby was still growing at the same rate as before although it is still small.

Has anyone else been in this situation or is going through it now? Go from feeling positive as the baby seems to be happy for now to feeling really worried that things might get worse between scans meaning bad news at a scan and also worrying about issues that can go along with a premature baby.

Would love to hear from anyone who wouldn’t mind sharing their experience/is going through the same thing and would like to stay in touch over the coming weeks x

All going well thanks. Time is flying by only 7 weeks to go, I can’t believe it and keep pinching myself! X

Hiya... My baby is measuring small and they think something is wrong with the placenta too, going to have it confirmed today, so far I don't know what the process is and what they'll do if it is 😣😣 I'm so nervous....!! I'm 29 weeks now. Going to message you xxxxxx
