Hi there! I've got 2 horses but both now retired so riding wasn't an issue for me. Re chores my little boy was born on August so they were out 24/7 so I just helped hubby with a bit of poo picking and would spend a bit of time pampering but nothing strenuous. Before they.were.out I did most things just avoided heavy lifting and was just really careful to listen to my body when it was struggling. I remember just being so blooming exhausted at the effort!! Basically I kept littering doing what I could and felt comfortable with to keep fit, but just kept well within my limits. Also would never normally get hubby to be so helpful so took it for all it was worth!!!!
Okay, thankyou I wanted to carry on riding almost till the end but only 17 weeks and last few times have got off feeling sick as if baby didn’t like the bouncing around, and chores are slowly getting harder I have 1 to ride but 2 to do, and I still have 23 weeks to go, think I’ll be admitting defeat and letting people help before long 😳😂
I have three horses and am lucky that my husband mucks out etc. I get horses in and groom them, change rugs etc. But as for riding I gave up once pregnant as haven't wanted to risk it.
Hi, I have a horse and do 4 others on assisted livery, I’m currently 19 weeks and plan on doing them until I’m induced at 38 weeks. I worked with the horses until I was 32 weeks pregnant with my twins, I only gave up work with the horses because I was too big to bend over and pick there feet out lol. Just do what you feel comfortable with, everyone is different x
Myself and my friend have horses, I’m now 34 weeks and she’s 26 weeks...
I gave up pretty much beginning on second trimester due to factors outside of pregnancy, I’ve since ridden I’d say about 3/4 times. Every now and again I go and do the jobs for my mums horse, but take my time. If it wasn’t for the loan not working out, I’d still be there everyday.
My friend who is 26 weeks pregnant has two horses and she’s still riding and doing her daily duties for them. She has however commented on her core strength being weaker, she has also now made the decision to stay on soft ground and not go out hacking, but she will continue to when ever she can.
I think you just have to listen to your body and take a break if you need it.
