I’m 20, I’m a week late for my period. I’ve done 2 pregnancy test and they’ve both came up positive. I’ve brought two more to do as well to make sure. But what should I do next? Like who do I need to contact about checking if I am?

Hi first thing you can do is if you havmt take the test first thing then if they come back positive again you are pregnant contact your GP. Then ur gp will refer you to a community midwife for a booking appointment think around 8-10 weeks

The gp wil ask you the first day of your kart period to work out how far you are

The midwife will contact you and do a home visit. At that appointment she ask you lots of questions about medical history if this is your first pregnancy who you have to support you etc

Good luck

Things we slightly different for me, I phoned docs surgery told receptionist that I have had positive pregnancy tests. All she told me to do was pop in a pick up what she called a ‘pregnancy pack’, this was a ton of information, with a cover letter which had the phone number on for the local maternity hospital as I had my 8-10 week booking appointment there. Also had info about smoking and tons of other stuff also there was a booklet that I had to fill in before 8-10 week appointment. However this is nearly 3 years ago, and different areas may have a different way of doing things.

Hope my experience helps best of luck! Rebecca

In my areas no one checks your pregnant you just have the 12 week scan. When you find out your pregnant we have to fill in an online form on our local hospital website which goes to the midwife and then she contacts around 8 weeks. There’s no need to see a GP where I am. Maybe phone your surgery to see what their process is x

No one will check that you're pregnant as a positive pregnancy test means you are. If positive then it means you're pregnant.

So it depends what you want to do with the pregnancy. If you want to keep baby it's a matter of calling your surgery and they give you details for midwife service.

If abortion is something you're considering contact Marie stopes which you can self refer and they'll will discuss options with you.
