Hello all! Last night I made the mistake of weighing myself. I was just wondering how much weight everyone has gained post 30 weeks? I’m currently 33 weeks and was pretty shocked as I have gained 1 1/2 stone!

Ignorance is definitely bliss! Blame it on the baby and hope it comes off afterwards! 🙈I hope your pregnancy is going well too!

It will im on baby no 4 I know it will take time to get back to where I want to be and thats fine with me as ive had eating disorders in the past but i can say ive enjoyed eating a range of foods this time round !! Havent gone completely into sod it mode and still do spin classes and go for a walk with the 2yr old in the pushchair everyday but then I haven't denied myself anything either!! so long as baby is doing good Im not bothered and nor will they at the end of the day 😊 I might be brave and hop on the scales but might chicken out ..... oooh chicken 🍗🤣 good luck hun we're nearly there!!! I put on 1 stone 3lb from start to end of pregnancy but was below my pre pregnancy weight when I had given birth. You’ll be surprised how much of that weight is baby, placenta and fluid.

I only put on 14lb with my first she was 6lb 8oz and 8lbs with my second she was 7lbs 5oz I remember just after I had her wearing my dressing gown in the hospital I just looked pre pregnant, just ate the same I’m not slim I really thought I’d get huge I didn’t even get much of a bump till near the end.

I gained 3 stone. A lot of that was water towards the end I think 😱

I’m now only half a stone heavier than I was before I was pregnant and my baby is 10 weeks. Wait until you see your placenta after birth, that must weigh a fair amount! Haha. Think about water, placenta, baby, extra fat that you need. It all adds up! Xx

I am 41 w and put on about 2 1/2 stone it is a shock especially as I have always been a slender person. I stopped weighing myself though as I am greatful for being able to grow this Tiny human even if she is outstaying her welcome so far! You will lose the weight xxx

With my first pregnancy I gained 2st 9.

This time I’m 38 weeks and have gained 3 stone. I was only 7 to start with, so I wouldn’t worry!

1.5 for 33 weeks sounds pretty normal x

They say 2-4 lbs in 1 st 3 months, then 1lb per week after that.

By 28 weeks I’d put on 3/4 of a stone looking at my tracking and then I must have given up as I don’t have any measurements past 28+5 😂 however two weeks after birth I was 1/2 stone lighter than I was at the start, you just can’t tell at the time. Mind you the amount of sugary foods I now eat and quantity post baby it won’t be long before I’m back up to pre pregnancy and beyond 😂 12 weeks post birth is not the time for dieting if told myself 😉 x

I read a short article about pregnancy weight the other day. I’ve copied it below in case you find it helpful:

‘Most women find that they gain very little weight during the first trimester, in fact some women actually find they lose weight as a result of morning sickness and food aversions. By the end of your pregnancy, you may be up to 16kg (35lb) heavier than you were pre-pregnancy. It may sound a lot, but remember, not all of the extra pregnancy weight gain will be baby. In fact, your weight gain will be made up of the following components (and their average weights):

•baby 3-4kg (7-9lb)

•extra fat 2.5kg (5.5lb)

•water 2.5kg (5.5lb)

•extra blood and fluid 1.5kg (3lb)

•larger uterus 1kg (2lb)

•amniotic fluid 1kg (2lb)

•placenta 0.7kg (1.5lb)

•larger breasts 0.5kg (1lb)

Body Mass Index

The amount of weight you should gain during pregnancy, is dependent on your Body Mass Index (BMI). At the start of your pregnancy, your healthcare provider will take your height and weight, and use this information to calculate your BMI.

If you have a normal BMI (between 19 and 24), you should be aiming to gain between 11 and 16kg (or 25 to 35lb) by the end of the pregnancy. If you are carrying twins, you should expect to gain between 16 and 20kg (35 to 44lb). If you are considered to be overweight (with a BMI of 24.5 and over), you should gain between 7 and 11kg (or 15 to 25lb) by the time you give birth. If you are obese at the start of the pregnancy (with a BMI of 30 or more), you should try to limit your weight gain to between 5 to 9kg (11 to 20lb). If you are underweight at the start of the pregnancy (with a BMI of less than 19), you will be advised to gain between 13 and 18kgs (28 to 40lb) during the pregnancy.

If you are a healthy weight at the start of your pregnancy, you should expect to gain no more than 2.2.kg (5lb) during the first trimester, between 5.5-9kg (12-19lb) in the second trimester, and up to a further 3.5-5kg (8-11lb) in the third trimester.‘

Don't get too worked up about the gainedweight! I gained 1.8st with my boy. Week later I was back to my usual weight- I think most of it was baby and fluids etc because after giving birth I ate like a horse...

I put on just under 2 stones with No1 and No2. After No1 I got married 6 months after birth and without exercising had my pre-pregnancy weight (just lots of breast feeding and running around planning a wedding with a baby...). I was a bit shocked to see how heavy I was but so much comes off straight after birth. Bum and thighs where I had my own weight gain...

Now with No3 I’m 2 stones heavier at 30 weeks!! I’m a bit freaked out by it but every body and every pregnancy is different. As long as you are healthy and eating well, don’t worry. It’ll come off again!
