Just found out I am pregnant

Yesterday I found out I am pregnant and it was a big shock...

I did a clear blue test said I’m about to 3 weeks .. And I not sure what I should do now.

I think the first thing to do will be to go to your GP, they will run further tests and then proceed from there. Wishing nothing but the best xx

I would give your GP surgery a ring and ask what your local area policy is (or check on their website). When we find out we are pregnant in my area we just self refer online to the midwife. The GP wouldn’t do any pregnancy test to confirm (not in my area anyway). Congratulations xx

Thank you pep. How do I work out if I am 2 or 3 weeks if you get what I mean .?

Also I am only 22 and I am so worried about letting my dad and step mum Because they know that I won’t children but they told me to wait a year or 2.

Pregnancy weeks are counted from the first day of your last menstrual period x

Congratulations!

The clear blue will say 2 to 3 weeks but that’s from conception, whereas when your doctor or midwife refers to how many weeks you are it’s from the first day of your last period so in reality you’re probably 5 to 6 weeks x

I’d contact your doctors surgery and they’ll book you in with a midwife.

I was 18 when I found out I was pregnant and was dreading telling my parents, but they were incredibly supportive. I think no matter how they felt when they were talking it’s Completely different when you’re actually pregnant. (And if they’re reserved about it -like my grandad was- as soon as you’ve got a bundle in your arms everyone is head over heels!)

I spent most of my first pregnancy worried about what other people thought of me and it ruined it... I tried to hide my bump because I was a young mum and I didn’t want the judgment. I regret how I felt so much, honestly it’s the best thing that’s ever happened for me and I wish I hadn’t worried about other people so much.

That being said my mum found out the day I was going to tell her.... she found my folic acid in my room! So definitely talk to them before they find out themselves xx
