Feeling rubbish

Hi all,

I’m about 4-5 weeks pregnant and I feel absolutely awful. I’m just so tired and feel dizzy when I stand up and my legs ache. Is this normal? I feel so emotional too like I could cry at any minute.

I’ve also been getting horrible cramps, which feel like a cross between period cramps and wind. I woke up at 2am with awful cramps but ended up going for a number two and it did feel a bit better. I’m terrified I’m going to have a miscarriage as I’ve had two this year. I had one day of spotting but I think this could have been implantation bleeding as I’ve not had any since and it was 5 days ago.

I’m waiting for a scan appointment to come through as I need to have an early scan but that’s going to be in 3ish weeks.

I’m taking cyclogest pessaries as well so I don’t know if this is contributing to all of this.

Any similar stories or advice welcomed!

Thanks x

Oh I feel for you. The extra progesterone makes you feel awful- tiredness and bowel symptoms. I was so tired for my first trimester with progesterone injections. Make sure you drink lots (little and often if you feel sick).

If your pain is very bad and does not get better with paracetamol, then see a dr.

I know it’s worrying but apart from looking after yourself, there is nothing you can do but easier said than done if you have had miscarriages before. Better to have the scan after 6 weeks gestation as more likely to see a heartbeat. Xx

Ah thanks. It’s hard to know now which is pregnancy and which is the progesterone. Luckily I’m not feeling sick yet really just a bit dizzy.

I’m trying to keep calm as I know there’s nothing I can do either way. I said to my gp about the pain and she said it could be something it could be nothing and unfortunately all I can do is wait.

By the time the scan comes through I should be either 7 or 8 weeks so hoping we will see a heartbeat. I go from being excited to terrified in the space of about 30 seconds! Lol. X

I feel your pain. I just went for my 6 weeks scan today and saw the heartbeat. It was so magical. The nausea and sickness is so unreal but I will take it as long as baby is healthy.

I bought some sea bands, gin gin lozenges and I keep crackers by my bed or at my desk. When I start to feel nauseous I just put a cracker in my mouth and that tends to help. Make sure you are drinking plenty as well. It will get better. Good luck to you.

Ah that’s great. Congratulations on your scan today. I think I’ll be about 7 weeks when I get a scan so I’m hoping we’ll see the heartbeat too. I might start to relax a bit then as well.

I’ll take it all too if it means I get a happy baby at the end of it all! Luckily I’m not feeling sick just a bit dizzy and tired, I’m sure that will come soon enough. X
