Thirsty!

Hi!

I’m 33 weeks pregnant and have noticed for the last week or so that I’ve been SO thirsty during the night! Drinking a bit more during the day but not as noticeable as at night time. This means that I then wake up in the early hours desperate to pee! Has anyone else experienced this??

Yes I used to go through almost a litre a night I was so thirsty which in turn made me pee more so I was up 3 or 4 times a night. Thankfully it isn’t like that since she was born. I actually get more sleep now than when I was pregnant :) x

Thank you for your reply! That’s good to know! Xx

I would maybe get checked for diabetes? :/ that starts with an unbelievable thirst.

I have the midwife next week so will ask. I wouldn’t say it’s that bad but just a lot more thirsty than usual! Xx

Might just be a pregnancy thing! But I know being thirsty during the night normally (without being preggo) can be first sign of diabetes! I’ve recently just got GD, it’s not as bad as it seems! Xx

I've been thirsty like this throughout my pregnancy too. Gp checked my sugar levels early on and had the GTT, but apparently just normal for me! It's only these past few weeks it's worn off (I'm 38+4). The peeing all night is irritating though! X

Yes, I'm very thirsty. It's because I have slightly low blood pressure. However I manage to drink a bit of water before bed and ignore any thirst at night. Make sure your blood pressure has been checked if it hasn't already.
