Hey girls,

So I have officially started shopping for baby clothes. I think I’m starting to nest now which is making me so excited!! I’m 18+4 weeks.

I also found such a good deal on amazon for water wipes I will try link it below

amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07BZ8...

Do you girls want to see what I have purchased?

I’m not sure if anyone is ever interested in mini hauls but I love watching them.

Hope you’re all having a good week

Love

A

Ooh exciting stuff. I loved shopping for clothes and still do. It’s hard not to go mad. Luckily I was actually quite good and didn’t buy too much as I ended up having a 10lb baby so some of the stuff I had she grew out of pretty quick.

Also if you buy wipes and nappies etc don’t buy too many because I read before I had my baby that they could be sensitive to them and then be wasted. Water wipes should be fine though.

What’s your next things to buy? Xx

I completely get what you mean about growing out of clothes really quickly, I have bought bodysuits and a few sleepsuits in newborn sizes and the rest 0-3. A few outfits for when we visit family and friends but the rest just staple pieces. I work for H&M so I’m lucky I can get the really cheap bits from there.

I was really careful when it came to wipes because I’ve read some branded/scented ones can cause bad rashes and leave baby bottoms sore😭

I found a really cute hairbrush and thermometer set too which was only £12.

For the really big stuff I’m planning on hitting the Black Friday sales😘💕 x

Buying the first set of babygrows and bodysuits really stressed me out because I was panicking about what if she was really tiny and I didn’t have anything to fit her or what if she was really big and I didn’t have anything either. Luckily someone was selling a really big bundle on Facebook so had all sorts in there for £15 and was really decent stuff I was very impressed!!

That’s really good you work for a clothes store! Always handy lol.

We have used pampers, Huggies and Johnson’s wipes and huggies are the worst but now we use Asda ones as you can get unscented ones and you can get a box of 12 packs for about £5.40 I think. We also use Asda or Aldi nappies which are also good.

I think we got that brush set you mention and it’s really handy.

Also don’t worry about getting bath soaps etc as they say babies only need water for the first six months and my LG definitely did as she got eczema at 3 months.

The thing I most regret spending money on is a Moses basket. Our LG was in it for about six weeks so if you can get a cheap one. We then went on to buy a next to me crib as obviously wasn’t happy about moving her into her own room at six weeks.

I sound like I’m rambling on lol but I wish I had some advice on buying stuff although I don’t know if I would have always listened as it’s so exciting!! Are you going to find out what your having? Xx

You’re not rambling at all, infact it’s so so helpful, sometimes in all the excitement you can overlook certain things and I don’t want to make that mistake. I won’t be buying a Moses basket because they grow out of them really quick, I will purchase a little sleepy head so I can take him to and from rooms. We are having a little boy💙👶🏻 We found out a week ago🙈🙈

Nappies is something I will need a lot of help with because I’m not sure with all the sizing, I hope he fits in the clothes I have bought.

Do you have any tips on what I should pack for myself for the hospital? X

I felt so stupid when she grew out her Moses basket as I didn’t even think that she wouldn’t last a good few months in there 🙈. Definitely won’t make that mistake next time.

Aw a little boy ❤️ have you got many names on the list yet?

The nappies have the weight size on the front of them so size 0 will be absolutely fine unless you have a really tiny baby. Then you’ll just work it out easy as you’ll get him weighed quite a lot to start with so just go up as and when. Although it’s annoying as different makes can come up bigger or smaller like clothes.

Hopefully your hospital will give you a list for your bag but definitely buy lots of big knickers and maternity pads (lots!). I wasn’t quite prepared for how much bleeding there was in the weeks after. Take lots of water as gas and air dries the mouth badly. Big nighties. They say pack food to give you energy like energy bars etc but I did not eat anything at all during labour so that all got put back in the cupboard when we got home 😂. A lot of stuff they say to pack I didn’t really use but that could just be me. If you have a pregnancy pillow maybe take that. I think I would next time as your belly literally feels like a water bed and if you end up having a section your belly feels like it droops and pulls on the scar so nice to have something for your belly to lean on. Don’t know how it feels if you end up have a natural birth. They say to wipe your baby’s bum with cotton wool and water but I just used the wipes.

I got quite hung up on the bag but in the end hubby had to get stuff from home as we were in for three days after in the end xx

I had the opposite my baby was 6lb 8oz so needed tiny baby and all I had was first size which were massive my sister and Mam had to go buy me some when I was still in hospital. My friend loaned me her Moses basket as didn’t want to buy one. If i get pregnant again I’ve already planned shopping twice then miscarried I’m not going nuts as you really don’t need loads cot, bedding, pushchair, clothes, bottles and steriliser if not bf. I probably won’t bother buying loads of nappies or wipes it would be my 3rd baby I know what to expect so no need to buy in excess.

I’m having my third and recently discovered Cheeky Wipes. Wish I’d known about them (if they excited then!) BEFORE I had my other two.

They are really soft, really lovely and environmentally friendly (as well as bank account friendly in the long run) wipes. You reuse them and add lavender to them, SO nice.

I’m planning on using water wipes for stinky bottoms but for anything else I’ll use Cheeky Wipes. Have a look!

Don’t forget to sign up for Emma’s diary and bounty! That way you get lots of samples of nappies, wipes, creams and bath stuff which lasts your first few weeks :) I got lots of 0-3 but then has a small baby so everything was huge 😂 husband nipped to mothercare who do a newborn set with sleepsuits, vests, hat, scratch mits and a bib. It was only £15 and worked for the first week.

I am 24 weeks and we are pretty much done buying everything! I've bought absolute mountains of clothes and noted down how many of each type and size. I'm fussy and knew I'd be very particular with brands and styles of clothes so took advantage of bargains off eBay, table tot and mum to mum sales. We are both prone to allergies so sticking with aveeno baby, burts bees and wella products and the new pampers pure even though they are on the more expensive side.. I just stock up on these things when I see they are on offer. We created an Amazon baby registry and posted the link to all family and friends on Facebook and the parcels started coming through. The nursery is nearly complete, all furniture bought plus a bedside cot for our bedroom.. nursery just needs a paint refresh :) I've even started buying for my hospital bag!
