So today I found out I had a mmc at my private scan and I’m suppose to be 11 weeeks, it’s my first pregnancy and I’m so devastated. I have an appointment on Tuesday at the epu... what shall I expect?

Sorry to hear this it’s absolutely devastating. I’ve had one before and they will do another scan to double check things. They will then give you different options on how to pass the baby and the choice is completely up to you xx

So sorry to hear this. I had a mmc with my first pregnancy. As was said, they’ll do another scan. With mine they made me wait 10 days after my first scan before having a second, to confirm the baby wasn’t developing. They then will give you the options, as well as giving you information about where to get support if you need it. Lots of hugs, I know how hard it is xx

This happened to me 6 years ago, they knew from one scan so I had an erpc later in the week to remove it all. It was all extremely upsetting I now have a 4 year old so don’t give up hope x

I’ve had 2 mmc 1st at 12w in Nov and just one at the end of July I was nearly 13w no symptoms with last so heartbreaking. They arranged another scan for a week finding out but I started bleeding before and passed most of it but needed to go to EPU for extra stuff. They give u options expectant, medical or surgical expectant you let it just happen naturally at home where u pass blood clots and the pregnancy tissue. Medical you put tablets in your vagina where it starts you contracting to pass the pregnancy usually in hospital and they check every that comes out. And surgical I’m sure you can do it local or general they open the cervix and basically suck it out with a tube. I did both at home but my second I had some stuck so had to go in. It is massively emotionally and I tear up whenever I think about it but I’m finding I’m getting over my 2nd much quicker. I’m sorry you going through this I hope you have lots of support. Big hugs xx
