Hun if I was you I would request a blood test to check HCG levels with your doctor, as that way you will know what’s going on xx all the best xx

Could be the beginning of menopause perhaps? If you conceived in January your baby would be six months old and you’d be entering your third trimester. You would definitely be testing positive by now if you were pregnant. I agree with Siri, best get yourself to the GP. Good luck! X

I’m sorry but I don’t think at 53 it would be possible to be pregnant. It sounds like it could be the menopause but I would go to the dr because any bloating in that area like that should be checked out x

It could be but keep in mind nothing is impossible. My grandmother gave birth at 52. And there's a lot of testimonies. Not because is common is impossible. Thank you. For your opinion.

Yes there can be the occasional person but chances are unlikely. If your stomach is growing it’s pretty important you see a dr to rule out things like ovarian cancer. Please don’t ignore it xx

I do not have ovarian cancer. Thank God. That is already ruled out. The Glory be to God. But don't worry it's under control

Hey Queenie, it will be quite astonishing if you get pregnant at this age. Because I am 40 and couldn't be able to get pregnant naturally. And the symptoms of pregnancy are not always clear. Since you are 53, you may be into the phase to menopause. It's not possible that past six months you may be having BFN. So this ist be something else that your body is experiencing. It is better to consult with your fertility doctor. This could be something else that your body might be indicating. This couldn't be pregnancy. Because the age matter to fall pregnant. Sorry.

I understand I had my daughter at age 40 naturally no invitro. God can do has He please. We all are different. But thank You for Your opinion.

I think that if you were pregnant from sex in January, you'd likely be feeling kicking by now. Have you felt anything?

Why not go to get an ultrasound at a clinic? You can get one done for a relatively small fee usually. You'll know within seconds if you're pregnant or not since you should be far enough along if you're pregnant to clearly see baby.

Otherwise, this could be progesterone imbalance (maybe due to onset of menopause) which can cause the body to act as if it's pregnant. A simple blood test can test for this as well as HCG levels.

I hope for the best whatever the outcome.

If it turns out you're pregnant, congratulations! Do let us know!

I am 37 and recently discovered I was 24 weeks pregnant. I had no idea as my periods had continued, I had zero sickness and felt no movement. The only reason I found out is I had bloods taken for something else. I am 33 weeks now and am feeling movement daily as well as being monitored closely. Go the hospital and get checked out, you just never know!

I must add this is my second child so it’s not just me being clueless lol

Sounds like your have already seen a doctor and for an ultrasound... Did they mention this could be the menopause?

No i haven't had a ultrasound.

If you are very bloated I would ask if you can have an ultrasound. Several things can cause bloating not just pregnancy.

Your advises are a little on the negative side.

roxannacar profile image

Negative? Why? Just being realistic, at 53 it's unlikely to be pregnant (not unheard of) but if pregnancy test is negative it's more unlikely. It's about being realistic and honest. Sure I can tell you congrats on your pregnancy but that would just be misleading and dishonest.

I don't think you were being negative at all!! And I agree with everything you've written.. 💙

I really don't need you tell me congratulations or anything. Its not only on my post i see that you are little negative You have to understand this is people feelings that they are dealing with. That is my humble opinion.

You are mixing up negative with facts... I am very factual and that's because I have a medical background and know the facts. If people ask for facts they will get facts. If people ask for emotional support I will give that or if I feel I can't give that or I can't relate then I won't comment. But I am rarely negative tbh maybe blunt.

I think if you do not want factual answers then you shouldn't ask for them.

Sorry for being concerned about abdominal bloating at age 53 which is something I would be concerned about in a patient of mine and would want to get checked out.

Ok feel good you are right . Rest of my case. Is enough you made your point clear. So stop it.

I don’t understand the issue here - roxannacar hasn’t said anything that other people haven’t already said? Why are you upset with what she said? Others have said the same thing and you’ve not jumped down their throats! If you want a specific response maybe just ask for that rather than getting offended when people show concern for your health?!

If I was you Hun I would ask for a ultra sound referral and a full blood count , until then nothing can be ruled out and all is possible! Good luck x
