Braxton Hicks?

Hey everyone

Just wondering if this could be Braxton Hicks. Tonight I’ve had some period type pains across my stomach, not painful but aware of it. I also kept needing to do number 2 today 🙈 (sorry tmi) and have the vaginal ache again.

Just wanted to check this is pretty normal? I’ll be 27 weeks on Sunday.

I’m so paranoid about going into early labour, don’t know why think it’s just with it being my first baby that I’m paranoid about everything 😩

Any advice appreciated xxx

Does your stomach go tight. When i had braxton hicks my stomach tightened up i didnt have any pain was just a tightening sensation x

braxton hicks dont last as long as normal contractions, nor or they painful. they dont tend to last too long at a time as well. its just your muscles practising the motions of tightening. if you are concerned ring your midwife

Thanks girls. It eased off, just seem to be more uncomfortable in general now but guess it’s down to a growing bump! Xxx

Hi Amanda86. Only just read this. Braxton Hicks contractions are usually very "tight" and only very slightly painful and last for a few seconds. Probably a silly thing to say, but during my midwifery years, babies that get to 28/40wks did well if born early, so try not to get too anxious. Baby can hear you now, so talk to him/her and play music that he/she will hear once born, as this often settles them down. When you do things like making a cup of tea, tell baby that you are off to make a cuppa,so he/she is included all the time. Take care and I hope all continues to go well with the rest of the pregnancy. Diane

Thank you Diane. It eased off, I think it’s just bump growing as I’m just feeling generally uncomfortable now all over really lol.

Last night under my bump felt a little achey, I read this might be round ligament pain?

Hi Amanda86. I agree, the Round and Broad ligaments will be under a lot of pressure now, as baby is just growing. Put your feet up when you can, and I'm sure you will settle back down. Diane
