Hi, am 40weeks and this evening I have been having serious waist pain. My nurse told me today that my baby head has engaged. What should I do?

Not much to do except make sure your bags are ready and you have your travel plans in place, Babies head is engaged that could mean baby is coming soon or not, my second was engaged for weeks and weeks before i had him.

Hi Queeni

As Kate said get your bags ready just in case. If you want to spur things along you could try doing yoga and birthing ball exercises. I used to do preparation for birth exercises from YouTube but there may be some suggestions on the NHS Choices website too. These can encourage the baby to come out and also help with pregnancy pains. Yoga breathing also comes in handy for when you have contractions. Try and stay as upright as possible me as this also encourages the baby to come out. Walking is good too (although I know this might feel uncomfortable at this stage).

Good luck. Hope you don’t have to wait too long to meet your little one x

Do you think these are contractions? If so if they are every 5 mins or so I'd get in touch with labour ward. You can have paracetamol. Also a warm bath might help ease things and give you idea if you're really in labour.

Good luck
