Am 39weeks pregnant and wish my baby has arrived. But this evening I woke up having headache. Should I be worried?

Thank you

Personally I wouldn’t be worried but feel free to contact your midwife if you are very concerned. I normally get headaches if I’m stressed or dehydrated. As you are towards the end of your pregnancy I would recommend staying really hydrated. Plenty of water is key. This will help with your headache. Also yoga and birthing ball exercises are really relaxing at this end of the pregnancy and can also help get your baby engaged.

Good luck and hope everything goes well for you x

Yes, I’m similar. I’m overdue now and wish my baby was here now as I’m really uncomfortable whatever I do.

Headaches could be dehydration. I had them often in the 1st trimester. As soon as I upped my fluid intake, they disappeared (it does mean a lot of trips to the loo though) so I always have a bottle of water with me no matter where I go (although I’m not really leaving the house anymore).

If drinking more doesn’t resolve it, definitely get in touch with your midwife. Take care.

Headaches can be dehydration or something that's no cause for concern, they are also a sign of pre-clampsia so you would probably be best getting your BP and urine checked by a midwife just incase.

Headaches can also be a sign of labour, ask your midwife if you’re unsure or concerned.

Best of luck xx
