Hey I’m 2nd August and already have a June baby (although he’s now 7!)

I’m getting a mixture. I remember my son being just in vests a lot of the time as he was so hot! But then we do have cold summer days so a little/light jumps and blankets are a good idea to.

Vests and babygro on top is always easy to do!

Might be best to buy items that can be layered up. I’m due any day now and have done the same with us heading into Springtime for those warmer and/or chilly days.

Hiya, I'm 30th July. My first was a January baby in the UK so was fleecy baby grows lol

I'm not finding out babies gender so will be pretty much buying when baby comes with the exception of a few white vests & socks. I have a few white baby grows from my first but goodness knows if the will be any use.

You won't need much either way, they grow so quickly xx

Hey! I’m due 15th August and have found there’s not much summer clothes out there at the moment so I’ll wait till April to buy clothes, plus I’ll know if I’m having a boy or girl. I’ll be buying summer clothes from newborn to 3 months with a few cardigans thrown in and then autumn winter clothes xx

Wow. Congratulations! Im due the 18th. So August will be hot right...?

I know this place in Cali if you live in the Orange county area Where they tell you the gender as early as 13 weeks.I had that done at exactly 14 weeks & i was a little skeptical about it but the reviews on that place & the people that work there made me feel good about going in so early. It took her 2 minutes to find the gender & it was super clear im having a baby boy🙌🏼 really recommend that place

I wouldn't buy too many summer clothes with living in the U.K. ... the other thing is to layer up so you can add on remove as necessary. Don't go crazy with clothes as you will receive many as gifts and they will grow out very quickly

If you live in Cali would go with short sleeves etc but keep cardi at hand cuz air conditioning can get really cold inside

Clothes for you, or clothes for baby?

If you, I would plump for a couple of floaty mat dresses from H & M or New Look and a couple pairs loose (drawstring style) summer trousers eg linen style (make sure machine washable tho - save yourself energy on handwashing). I lived in this sort of thing & a floor length casual-smart maxi-dress from H & M while preggers in 2014/2015 and had a professional job for posh uni (the one with the lovely campus-based old building in the photos), where I occasionally had to man stand at events, so needed to look the part, even while preggers & suffering wiv nausea for 7 months of the 9.

For baby:

They virtually live in baby gro & vest combos first 3-4 months, so I would stick with neutral but summery colours & bulk buy vests & baby gros (eg pastel shades in lemon yellow, pale green, baby blue, baby pink, whites, nudes), then layer when chillier in Sept, Oct, Nov with little cardigans & socks under babygros. Make sure you have winter coat / snow suit & / or buggy "cosytoes" prepped up for when it gets colder.

Sleep bags can be good, but I would either avoid in summer or put just long-sleeve vest on, with sleep bag on top.

A word on vests: I live in UK (at the time - summer 2015, when tyke was 2-3 months old - in Windsor, Berkshire), we had a massive heat wave that year - Gro Egg temps of 40 degrees (scary as supposed to be like 16-20 degrees). Tyke lived in just vests during that heat wave, occassionally just nappy with lightweight blanket draped over him. A very kind lady at our flats, put a note with a pretty bar of soap gift thru door. She had lived in South Africa & tipped that if BF was hard, to get in cool bath & tyke would BF...I tried this & she was right! 100%!! Never got to thank her in person. But I owe her big.
