Hi, I've been given quite a lot of second-hand baby clothes and toys by kind friends. They look great and I really appreciate being given them; however, I'm a bit worried about whether they will be safe to use with my new baby. Is there any risk of germs being passed on with second-hand stuff? What do you think? Thank you

second-hand baby clothes and toys
If I was you. I'd get hand held steam mop out and give the toys a good going over I do that even with, new toys. Clothes wash with your non bio. You should be fine hun. I felt same, way when my aunt was passing me lots of stuff but a good old steam and a couple of washes good as new 💗🤗😘
Give them a clean & it will be fine. Second hand baby things used to be the norm. Now we've all gotten used to buying new. I'm due my second in the summer & will be using most of the things I used for my first (some of which has been given back because friends have borrowed) With the exception of mattresses. My friend has a bag of clothes & toys for me that I'll gladly accept & just clean up nearer the time xx
I'm due my first in May and second hand items have been a godsend. I have been given heaps of clothing from 0-12 months, Moses basket, pram, blankets, sheets, sterilizer, next to me cot...the list goes on; it has saved me so much money that I have been able to buy the things I really wanted to splash out on. I've given all the clothes, blankets etc a good wash, bought a new mattress for the Moses basket and cot and steamed everything else.
