Ladies I have big dilemma. I can't stop thinking about this if I should have whooping cough vaccination. I know it is for my baby to protect him for the first two months of his life but I am very afraid of vaccinations in pregnancy. I'm afraid that it may affect my child badly. Do you have any advice?

I had the whooping cough jab and my baby is fine (she’s 1)

The NHS states that there is no evidence the whooping cough vaccine will harm you or your unborn baby. Here is the link ttps://nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy...

As stated in the link, “Whooping cough is a highly infectious, serious illness that can lead to pneumonia and brain damage, particularly in young babies. Most babies with whooping cough will need hospital treatment, and when whooping cough is very severe they may die.”

The decision is obviously yours to make and I would never tell you what you should do as an expectant mother but hopefully this information helps! X

I can’t offer any advice because I’m not allowed the whooping cough vaccination as I had a severe reaction to it as a baby myself I started having seizures so I’m under strict instructions from my midwife not to have it because of my previous history xx

I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl three weeks ago, I had the whooping cough vaccination. Obviously if you have no allergies to previous similar vaccinations it should be fine. I was nervous and it is natural to feel that way.

i had the whooping cough vaccine at 16 weeks and we are still going nicely at 28 weeks. I guessed they wouldn't recommend it if it wasn't important but i completely get your worries...i put my flu jab off for ages when we got our bfp. X

The whooping cough vaccine is very safe except in few circumstances it is contraindicated... why not read about it... there have been several studies about its safety
