8 weeks pregnant with aches cramps and spotting

Hi everyone

I'm New here. I found out this Thursday that I'm pregnant after almost 6 years of ttc and I have a healthy 7 1/2 year old son. I'm 8 weeks pregnant and started spotting on Friday and still have it today, it's not too much just when I wipe with a toilet paper. Sometimes it's a red or pink streak or reddish yellow then it disappears then happens again.

I just want some reassurance and hear about others experiences and did they have the same thing but had a healthy pregnancy.

I went to the GP to get registered but they said they will send referral and midwife will contact me.

I've read that some women spot and even bleed in the first trimester but have healthy pregnancies but I'm a wreck need some peace of mind.

Sorry for the rant. Didn't know wherelse to go.

I didn't find out I was pregnant until the 31st of July because I had a 2 and a half day period on the 2nd of July. I actually conceived end of June but because I'd had a 'period' I thought I wasn't pregnant.

It could be implantation bleeding which can happen in the first 12 days of conception. It's still worth getting checked out hun xx

I am almost 4 weeks pregnant i get bad nausea and sore back and triedness and heartburn some say its normal but do what you feel is right i have not went through this

I’m 7 weeks pregnant and started spotting and having cramps two weeks ago and then the spotting got heavier. So I was convinced I had a miscarriage. I had a scan a few days ago and it turns out I am pregnant and I have a hematoma which has caused the bleeding and maybe the cramps. Don’t worry too much. It is common to bleed / have spotting in the first trimester. Have a lovely Christmas x

Hi I’d see about it I had a bleed at 7 weeks googled it said it was common around this time so thought ok, then nothing til 12 weeks started spotting had a scan and baby had stopped growing at 6/7 weeks had a miscarriage the following week. For peace of mind I’d mention it to midwife. Hope everything’s fine xx

Thank you for the replies. Pregnancy is both joyous and worrisome, isn't it? Well can't get in contact with midwife as have to wait to be contacted by them so hopefully in the coming week I can get some peace of mind. The good thing is it's not getting heavy it's the same so fingers crossed all is fine.

I had a one off bleed like the start of a period before I knew I was pregnant with my son and I had brown blood for days when I was 7 weeks pregnant with my daughter! It's more concerning if you have pain with it.

Sound spike implantation bleeding sweetie, sometimes it can happen late at 9 weeks a have a massive gush of red blood but no pain it was loads at once then stopped, turned out I had abnormal cells on outside of my womb and I was banned from sex from 20 weeks pregnant it was a killer haha, but the cramping will be your uterus stretching to fit in baby happy a lot in first trimester feels like your period is due hope this helps, do always get any bleeding checked by gp and or midwife too though good luck on your amazing journey and if you need any advice feel free to message me

i was 6 weeks pregnant last year and started to bleed and had painful cramps.I was worried and went to gp and they booked me a scan 3 days later.The bleeding got heavier and i went again back to gp and they've said i've had to wait.So i followed my instinct and went to A&E and they've checked me and they won't let me go home as i've had a misscariage and 3 days after at the scan was nothing to see.This was my case but if you have light bleeding on and off it could be egg implantation which is normal.Try not to worry but if you do just go to A&E as Christmas is near you coud have a long wait till the midwife will contact you.Merry Christmas and hope everything will go well x

I had bleeding at 4 weeks, two instances of bright red blood, that faded to brown, and once instance of brown spotting. When I had a scan at 5 weeks 5 days I was told I had a subchorionic hematoma, which had caused the bleeding. My last scan was last week, at 8 weeks 5 days, everything is good and the SCH resolves itself. Don’t give up hope! Call your obgyn and ask to have a scan.

Thank you for reassurance. As it's holidays so hard to have any contact with midwife besides they have yet to contact me! Also the cramps have settled and spotting has become very less, only twice yesterday and none so far today. But still going to chase them to contact me and give me a scan asap!

My hubby too says it's normal to spot as implantation plus placenta also attaching can cause this (he is a doctor so has some knowledge besides he remembers I had this with my son too but strangely I don't). So hoping all is well in there.
