Can I dye my hair?

Hi, I’m wondering if it’s safe for me to dye my hair in pregnancy (I’m 16 weeks), does anyone know anything about this? I’ve had conflicting advice. I normally use semi permanent dye with no ammonia as I think that’s supposed to be a bit safer...but not sure! So sick of having grey roots! Thank you :-)

I would advice you to speak to a pharmacist to get them to check the ingredients to see if there are any that are harmful to the baby if absorbed into the skin. I chemically straighten my hair and they said it’s fine as long as I don’t do it too often. I’ve heard that you should also try to avoid applying the dye too close to the scalp. I think hair dyes are generally safer these days and I would trust the opinion of a pharmacist more than a doctor. Go to more than one pharmacist to get a second opinion. The one that I saw went on his pc and actually checked the ingredients individually. Hope that helps x
