Itchy nipple!

I know this may be a bit personal but I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm 16+6 with our rainbow boy! The past 2 days I've had such an itchy nipple, only the one. I can't scratch it because it's still sensitive and sore. Has anyone else had this problem and can give me some advice on how to sooth it please? I would be very grateful! X

Is it red? Could be an infected or annoyed milk duct.

I've had an infected milks duct when not pregnant and ignored the early stages and then it went to stabbing pains and needed antibiotics to clear it up.

Underwired bras can irritate the situation (apparently)

No hun, they're a normal colour. I imagine it's with all the changes going on but it's just so irritating. I'll definitely keep an eye though in case of infection. Thank you

Hopefully a better expert than I can advise. If not ask the midwife. That same duct that was infected raised up into a bump early in my pregnancy (no other boob action apart from that!) and I keep forgetting to ask the midwife. No pain or itching just a little lump.

Nct said hot showers might relieve some issues and cold compresses might hurt more but said cabbage leaves from the fridge in the bra might relieve some breastfeeding issues. Savoy is apparently the best!

Mine are similar. I do get itchy twinges from time to time and usually when I'm with company or out and ablout! I can only gently pat or rub myself to relieve them as I'm tender too. They almost feel bruised. I have no signs of infection so I think it's my body changing and growing as it's prepping for feeding my baby once he/she arrives. I'm 23 weeks.

Cabbage leaves apparently hun. Weve just had another baby and a few people said cabbage leaves soothes them. How true it is, I don't know.

its most likely due to your boddy producing milk i read that if your nipples are itchy you can sooth them by applying lotion to them i have the same problem and im 27 weeks with my second rainbow girl hope this helps

In all honesty I had the same and the thing that helped me was actually just simply nipple cream.. after a bath or shower apply some to the nipple and let them sit out in the open for a little let it soak in.. it turned out to be dry on the nipple tip. Hope this might help you x
