Hi, 1st time older Mum!

Hi, just found out I'm pregnant for the first time at nearly 40. Thought we would need some help or at least take a long time. 2 months after deciding to go for it, surprise!!! Kind of feeling a little lost as I'm a bit of a control freak and research everything, but for once in my life I feel a little out of my depth. Would love to hear from others who have been there, done that, or others going through it now.

I currently feel like it is not real if you know what I mean!

Congratulations. I became pregnant at 39, and like you happened very quickly!

I found out the was having twins which was quite a shock to be honest. I now have twin boys of 16 months old ....... who keep me very busy.

Any advice or tips along the way please just ask x

I think I felt it was unreal till I had the ultrasound and even then reality hits properly only once baby is here. As for getting prepared the NHS choices website is good about what happens in pregnancy and I got the app what to expect when expecting which gives you a weekly video about baby's development.

The good thing is that you have a long time to prepare and get your head around things ... 9 months is. Long time... Tell me I'm due on Monday and counting the minutes!

Hello. I'm 41 and nearly 8 weeks. I'm in quite a new relationship, we figured time was an issue if it was going to happen- at all - and lo and behold. I'm deeply grateful but it is hard to be over the moon given the risks you read about and also I don't feel particularly prepared. I research everything but in this instance I'm not sure quite what good it is doing me. An awful lot is so unknown and not there to be controlled. The nausea is making things a bit more real and my moods are very up and down. I wish you all the best, I think I know exactly how you are feeling!

Hi hun. I'm 39 and I had a reversal done because I'm with a new partner. I caught straight away and I'm nearly 8 weeks pregnant.

Congratulations but don't worry it normal to feel like this with your first pregnancy.please don't read or reseacrch to much in to it. Because you will only worry yourself. Not all that you read is true. Plus everyone is different. Good luck and you will be fine ☺ be happy xxxx
