Finally pregnant and need some help

I have been trying to have a baby for some time now however I have had a lot of health problems... I found out last week and the timing couldn't be worse because I just started college and work full time also have my step son every other week who has autism so he is sometimes a handful....but really I guess my question is , is it normal to have what feels like menstrual cramps? I have been really uncomfortable and agitated want to sleep a lot and feel like my body just wants to shut down, is this all normal for your first time and if not what should I be afraid of here. thank you in advance for any advise

Totally normal! Sounds exactly like I felt early on. If you get any bleeding though or the cramps make you double over in pain then you should head to doctors straight away.

Completely normal. I am experiencing them myself at 5w3d. It's your uterus stretching. I am absolutely shattered and can't even sleep properly when I try as I feel so uncomfortable.

Agree with Aimish77, if you get bleeding and/or severe cramps - see a doctor or go to your local early pregnancy unit straight away.

I lost my previous pregnancy at 11w2d - the pain and cramps were quite different and severe in comparison to the early cramps and they were accompanied by heavy bleeding so I immediately knew something was wrong.

Take things easy where you can and take one day at a time. If things get a bit much, let the people around you know xxx
