Baby Movements at 24 Weeks

Hi Ladies,

Just looking for some advice, I started feeling my baby kicks at 22 weeks and I have felt them consistently now for 2 weeks and they are a lot stronger now. Normally my baby starts about 10am-ish after I've eaten my breakfast, has a few kicks throughout the day and then at night is when I get the most. Yesterday I didn't get any until after 12pm, I got a couple and maybe a couple at night but even after lying on my left side there definitely weren't as many as the days before.

I know it is still early days for keeping track of the baby movements but do you think I should be keeping an eye on them today and maybe phone the midwife tomorrow?

Any advice on what to do to for focusing on their kicks and movements? Someone told me to have a sugary biscuit and cup of tea then lie on my left side....

Thank you! x

trust your instincts hun. Any decreased movement whatever the stage needs an eye kept on it. even if they just pop a monitor on fir half an hour its worth its weight in gold for piece of mind. X

If you're worried about it then definitely go and get it checked. It's always better to be safe than sorry. It could just be that baby is settling into a routine now. Mine was active all the way through and then settled in to a routine around 32 weeks but my sister in law settled into a routine at about 25 weeks. Have something sugary or something cold like an ice cream or ice, that always gets mine wriggling. Whenever I get worried I poke and prod mine like no tomorrow and dad blows raspberries on him. Safe to say he gets booted in the mouth after a few minutes 😂 Good luck Hun x

I am keeping track more of his movements now he must be getting into a routine although I will stock up on some ice poles to help if I start to get worried again! Thank you replying, I'm so sorry to hear that lovely :-( My baby was pretty active earlier today but haven't felt much movement, if any, since 4pm - I am giving it until morning then calling midwife as ice tried poking, blowing raspberries on my tummy, cold juice and ice pole but nothing is working right now. Hopefully it is just a lazy baby but by now I would have felt something more by now xx
