What do you mean by withered?? I mean they are pretty small to start off with at that age. If you mean that the completely disappear then this sounds like a retractile testicle and is normal at this age but would speak to your MW/doctor when your little one has their baby check

They were plumped when he was born, now it's like flaccid?

Are you sure it's the testicle or the scrotum? I mean things can be a little swollen post birth as it's a bit of a traumatic time, also the scrotum does change with temperature.

And also your hormones can affect things I.e. Baby's sometimes get milk from their nipples too or little girls can get bleeding from their girly bits. Has he had a newborn check yet? You can also ask ur mw when they come see you next, but sounds it's the scrotum is probably what you're talking about rather than testicles, as testicles of a newborn are little quite tiny

Your right it's the scrotum, today the health visitor came by and said that everything seems fine with the baby... thanks for your feedback

I am interested too- were they bigger, plumper and descended when he was born?

I am expecting a boy any week now and find this topic a bit worrying some.

Friend of mine had 2 boys- saw them both naked when she changed nappies: they were the biggest testicles ever, but then I read that in some boys they don't descend untill they are born and even up to age of 6 months old...

However, best to ask your GP or nurse/midwife about this!

Good luck!

From my experience, and I've got three boys, they all had periods of withered testicles, this happened every time e they were about to get ill. Or were in a period of illness. the health visitor said it was down to low in my immunity. They were very thin and wrinkly and it the little testicles just sat there in the bottom.

I freaked out the first time but every time after a few days they returned to normal

Im not a doctor just giving genuine experience 😀
