19 weeks pregnant and small car accident

Hi, my I'm currently 19 weeks pregnant with my first baby. I was in the car yesterday with my husband ( i was in the back) and we accidently drove in the back of someone. Im a natural anxious person. I haven't bothered going to the Hospital or GP as i didn't want to make a fuss. But now I'm a bit worried. Im lucky enough to be able to work from home today. But just wondering if its worth getting checked out by the midwife or I'm being melodramatic.

Sorry for my long post.

I would get checked out, there's no harm. It will put your mind at rest! Xx

I rear-ended another car when I was 21 weeks (I am now 36 weeks) and had similar worries to you. I rang the hospital and the midwives asked me:

1. Did the steering wheel hit my bump? It didn't.

2. Could I feel movements? I could

3. Any bleeding or pain? There was none

4. Was I rhesus negative? I was not. Apparently this is important - so if you are, do call the midwife.

They then said there was no need for me to attend to be checked out. I'm not sure if you'll be feeling proper movements at 19 weeks, but I would imagine the questions/instructions would be similar unless you have any other conditions.

Naturally, if you feel at all unwell, or have any other symptoms, still call straight away.

I hope this helps
