I'm new here...

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum. I'm 6weeks+2days and it's my first pregnancy. My husband and I found out at 4weeks+2days after 6 months of trying.

I've found the NHS website quite useful and am loving my new book - The day-by-day pregnancy book by Dr Maggie Blott. There's so much I didn't know about pregnancy!

I think I've been quite lucky so far with symptoms - just tiredness, a bit of nausea, interspersed dizziness and sore boobs.

The sore boobs has been the worst bit so far though! Oh my god they are painful! I got sore boobs pretty much immediately - it started just over a week before I missed my period. I've already gone up a cup size and I think I need to put mind over matter with the pain. Has anyone else had ridiculously painful boobs? And how long does it last?

I'm looking forward to the next few months and wish everyone the best of luck with their own pregnancies!

Congrats! Never really suffered from very sore boobs don't get me wrong they were painful but I don't think they were as bad as yours, think it lasts entire pregnancy 🙁 but have had bad heartburn everyday, think there was about 2 weeks I did not have it! Best of luck to you as well! X

I know the sore boob feeling :( my hormones are so crazy that usually I start to have sore boobs 2 weeks before my period (when I ovulated and got pregnant)

I must say that around week 8 they stopped being as sore as usual (nausea kicked in) , however, I am now cup size up and they are quite hard and tender but nothing like first weeks. Also I think I have started to drip some colostrum at around week 12 (just very tiny bit - when I have a shower I noticed that just on my nipple, which has got bigger and a bit darker, is like white stuff stuck so I wash it thoroughly).

I also religiously put bio oil on boobs and tummy.

Hope your boobs will get better soon!x

I am in a very similar position (5 weeks and 6 days) with the same symptoms. My boobs are massive (up two cup sizes to a 30G in two weeks) and very very sore. I have ordered a non-wired sleep maternity bra from JoJo Maman Bebe which has been recommended to me to see if that helps at night.

Thanks all. It seemed to have subsided a little last night and I managed to sleep on my front for a bit last night for the first time in the last month! But sadly this morning they are back to being really sore again! I'm hopeful that means it'll start getting easier to deal with now though.

Emilyj I feel for you! I was a b cup and now a c cup and that's been hurting enough so I can't imagine how it must be feeling for you!

And ChrisWest - good idea about the bio oil. I will give it a try!

Hiya!

I'm 38 weeks and have gone from a B to an E cup (much to my other half's delight!) Apart from some disappointing stretch marks my boobs haven't hurt in months so it does get better! I was also in agony for a while at the beginning. I would definitely recommend going for a fitting for new bra rather than guessing sizes (I bought nursing bras in D cups at the beginning and thought that was optimistic!) I went to mothercare and had a fitting there and the lady was brilliant.

Best of luck! Xx
