When to buy the big things

Hello when did everyone start buying the big/ expensive things like Cotbed/Pram/Car seat? Many Thanks Becca

I bought my pram over a month or so ago and I'm not due til April. My car seat came with my pram and I've been given a cot. I think it's best to buy the big things as soon as you can because if they need ordering then you've got plenty of time for them to arrive. A cot/cotbed maybe not as important as you could have baby in a Moses basket for a few months xxx

I would not leave it to last moment as that might be too stressful. Example - friend of mine was rushed into emergency c-section month before due date so her hubby was running around shops buying things - I would like to give myself time to compare prices, read the reviews and choose things myself (as partner might like the colour or shape but he won't think of practical or safe side of the purchase) Congrats and good luck!x

Haha strangely enough I bought the cot and crib fairly early around 20 weeks (as found a good deal on furniture) but didn't buy car seat & pram till 35weeks!! Which is a bit crazy. Luckily it came within a week and I delivered at 41 but could have worked out badly as they wont let you take baby from hospital in the car unless you have a car seat 😅

Thank you all for advise! Only reason I really asked was mother in law said she wanted to buy Pram and we went up to hers today didn't know if I should mention it to her, didn't have to though as she brought it up, we have decided she will come down when I am about 34 weeks and will order it then, and I am hoping to find a Pram and car seat combo. And I brought cot bed a few weeks ago that should be here on Tuesday!
