Rib pain?

Hey!

Just looking for advice.

I'm 28 weeks with my first baby. I've had a lot of back pain (middle & high) but seem to have sorted it with great support bras.

However for the last 3 weeks or so I have had this horrible burning sensation pain just under my boobs and close to the top of my rib cage. Unlike the back pain which is an ache this pain is more of a burn pain and my actual ribs don't hurt.... It seems more like it is my skin. I've come to the conclusion that it is probably my skin stretching but I just wanted to see if anyone has experienced this and what they have done about it. The pain seems to be constant and it is agony if I touch my skin in that area!

Any ideas?

Im not sure what it is but I would definitely speak to your midwife about this. You should have an appointment at 28 weeks with your midwife anyway. She may be able to shed some light on what it is or run some tests on you xx

I saw my midwife and she was unsure as my baby is still quite low down and not near my ribs. So went to see the doctor who had a feel around and said it is the tissue holding my tummy muscles together. It is stretching and causing the pain rather than getting pain in my ribs. I'm now on Co-codamol as Paracetamol doesn't work!
