Are children removed if there is an alleged past history mental health problems?

Can they deny fertility treatment to some one alleged to have mental health problems

Definitely not. Removing children is really a last option taken when they think children are at risk. It doesn't happen often at all. Did you know that 1 in 4 adults suffers from a mental health problem at some point is his life... imagine how many children would be removed if that were the case!

They will ask in your pregnancy notes but that's mainly so they can keep. A closer eye on things in view of post Partum depression (which you are higher risk of with previous mental health problems).

Of course having a child or ivf treatment can be quite stressful so for your sake and babys it's good to try and plan these events for when things are stable and good support is available ideally.

My wife is a family law solicitor and has stated. You can not have children taken away due to mental health issues. Should social services become involved they may seek a court order to remove the children only if they have specific reason to do so. This will involve testing. As for IVF I don't know, but woman are allowed anti depressants while pregnant!

as part of ivf you have to complete a welfare of the child form which will probably ask about this sort of thing, but if there's no reason you can't care for a child you won't be denied treatment. If anything you may just get extra support which isn't a bad thing.
