At 8 weeks I found out I was carrying twins, there were 2 strong heats beats and they were a week apart, my gynae told me that there was a possibility of a miscarriage due to their siza discrepancies, at 12 weeks ia have mild stomach cramps on and off for 2 days, I went for a US, and saw that I had lost 1 baby as the sac was empty, we were devasted no bleeding before or after so I knew it was the vanishing twin syndrome.
I keep holding onto hope that at my next scan the other twin will be there and that this was all a bid misunderstanding, the surviving twin is healthy- SO GLAD!
Has anyone experienced same or similar, and is there a chance the other twin was just not detected- holding onto hope.
Thanks

From experience if they saw an empty sac it's highly likely what they be said is true however if they couldn't find the sac there's a small chance baby was hiding but sonographers are pretty thorough nowadays. So sorry to hear ur news x sending u hugs
awww iv not been through my self but like you say with no bleeding as such there is still hope hun i have everything crossed postive thinking keep me informed xxxxxxxxxxx
My mum had this with my brother 33 years ago. It does happen and sometimes the embryo just gets reabsorbed into the body. So sorry if this has happened to you. Glad the surviving baby is OK though x
