Congrats! Contact your surgery (if uk that is), they should be able to advise on what to do next. I was just told to book a midwife appointment for 8 weeks, I never saw a GP, although I imagine it may be different for you. Good luck! X

Congrats! ThTs very early to already have a positive result (if you using your last menstrual period). As I imagine you're ofn thyroid replacement, they will need to check your thyroid levels throughout as your thyroxine requirements tend to go up in pregnancy. For this reason you probably will be under a consultant obstetrician as well as a midwife. It's a very common problem in pregnNcy. I'd call your gp to make an appointment as well as book in with the midwife.

Congrats again

thank you it was a shock im 22 and missed my period by 4 days so decided to test was a very strong line i can feel my hormones from my thyroid getting higher as im tired but cant sleep i keep waking up at 5:30 am and cant get back to sleep past few days, maybe because im excited haha i will contact them on monday thank you for the advice

Comgratulations! Sounds like you may have used a digital test? This just gives the number of weeks since ovulation so you have to add 2 further weeks. The doctor will take the date of your first day of last period and calculate how many weeks your are from that. So you might be closer to 5 weeks pregnant?

Ohh wow I will be sure to get checked asap then Thanks

Yes you calculate your pregnancy from the first day of your last period. Mine was 4th May so I was five weeks yesterday :) sooo exciting!

Hi have they not suggested an immediate increase in meds? I've just been through all this drama and had to increase my Levo dose by 50% especially in the first trimester development stage. The fact your feeling symptomatic already suggests to me it may need upping now, although the tiredness could be down to pregnancy 😊 But defiantly have that conversation with the GP as your meds do need increasing. Xx

ive just een on phone for over 45 mins with them as i feel they are too high for me as I have way to much energy but feel so sleepy, they have been useless without pushing they didnt even tell me i needed to book in with a midwife, im going in tomorrow for a blood test will have results back by friday and hopefully my baby will be safe its my biggest concern, how are you finding it im worrying about my levels being off although trying not too how far along are you and it is confirmed I am almost 4 weeks but very sympotamtic very strong blue line hormones has increased dramatically but no sickness yet

We're 11 weeks

my latest bloods suggested I'm over medicated so knocked me down to 125 my tsh was -.16 and t4 was 20 and same here total battle all the way through.

Had to show my GP the proof there was in increase in meds immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy.

The GP had me booked in with the Midwife at 7 weeks and had seen the endo specialist at 8 weeks.

I'm sure GP referred me so quickly because he didn't have a clue! And this is the second doctors I've changed to because the other doctors was the same!

At least you've got the ball rolling. And congrats ! X

I'm still very mood swingy! I'm snapping at the slightest thing and bawling my eyes out five minutes later, yesterday i caught my husband recording me crying at the end of Godzilla. He thinks hilarious. Said he doesn't know if he's coming or going.! Lol I was told it's the surge of progesterone gets us all rattled up lol. I feel pre menstrual all the time 😱

in reply to misswinky34

Hahaha that's how I feel just panicking about my thyroid levels

Don't worry too much, you wouldn't have got pregnant in the first place if your levels were off the scale. I know what you mean though. It does nudge up the miscarriage risk and we haven't even had our scan yet. Not for another couple of weeks yet. Boo! Can't afford a private scan 😔 Just saying little prayers 🙏

in reply to misswinky34

Trying not to worry lol but I know what you Mean think I'm going to take the weekend off work u til it gets sorted seems to be making it worse at the moment

Congrats, hope it all goes well for you. your gp should advise you in regards to your thyroids, you will be on regular checks for it to keep it leveled.

in reply to FarhaAdam

Thanks they haven't been great so far but I will ensure that everything is kept ok

Docs confirmed im 3 weeks and 3-4 days roughly based on the digital test I took, on the week where my period is due has implantation occurred yet? No spotting as of yet had cramps slightly when my period was due, not had much just slight twinges in my ovaries feels like things are moving around in there

This doesn't sound right - in my experience they wouldn't go by the digital test, they would go by day 1 of your last menstrual period (LMP). Seems odd to me that they're saying you're only 3w3d. I think when you get your dating scan, you will be measuring 2 weeks ahead!

You wouldn't get a positive test without implantation, so this has already occurred. Normally it's a few days after ovulation - 5 days after I think. You may or may not have spotting around this time. Not everyone has spotting - I would feel better without spotting if I'm honest!

i have had no spotting and according to the nhs due date thing i am 4 weeks going into 5 the first day of my last period was 13th may, i have booked in for an early private scan to determine how far i am on 13th july its roughly 3-4 weeks away should be 8 weeks by then

You have to increase your medication when pregnant its really important. They need to see you asap really because it's the first 12-14 weeks the baby gets T4 from you.

in reply to

i had my blood test yesterday, i am to call them on friday to get the results of the test back, they were adament i didnt need to be seen but i told them that if anything happens to my baby i will hold them rpersonally responsible as this can be a major threat to my baby

in reply to

I have hashimotos are you on thyroiduk on here? There are lots of helpful people there. You need to get in to see them before 8weeks. Low thyroid hormoans can cause developmental delays also. I have 2 autistic boys. I have also had 7 miscarriages, my last was 18 months ago at 12 weeks. At least you are on medication though. I wasn't. If your TSH is below 2 then you should be ok until then. Your T4 levels are important also as that is what crosses the placenta. Book an appointment with your GP separate it is only the GP that can do the medication increase anyway. I don't mean to scare you I am just stressing the importance of it from experience.

ive been to see the nurse to take my bloods should get my results back today or tomorrow, i know the risks involved but I have had my thyroid completely removed, ill see what my blood results come back as and if they decide i should up my medication then they should do so
