Previous molar pregnancy

Hi all, I'm new to this. I'm 40 years old and 7 weeks pregnant. Last year I found out at my 12 week scan I was having a molar pregnancy and was booked in for a d&c. Anyway, on the way home I started badly haemorrhaging and they rushed me in. I lost a lot of blood and was poorly for a while. Anyway, they have booked me in for an early reassurance scan on 20th May but I feel quite anxious about it. My previous 2 pregnancies were fine (I have a nearly 13 yo boy and a 10 yo girl). Has anyone else experienced this? I just want to fast forward these next couple of weeks 😩. Xx

Hi @cal_76 hope you are feeling ok and now in safe hands. My first pregnancy was a molar pregnancy (12years ago approx) I suffered a lot of bleeding and as the cancer was diagnosed quite late I was suddenly rushed to hospital to start chemotherapy that night. I was treated with chemo for 5 months. It was exhausting. I'm fully recovered now. What they told me is this tumour is 99.9% curable so I wasn't too worried. I have 4 healthy children since then and no problems with cancer. Good luck.

Hi, thanks for replying. I'm so glad to hear you went on to have healthy children. It's such a shocker isn't it? Not only dealing with the 'loss' but then the cancer word. All is ok now, thanks. They thought I had a placenta tumour, that was a crazy and worrying week - until they came back and said it was a straight forward molar. Luckily I didn't need the chemo like you did. That must have been horrendous. I have my scan next week (I will be 9 weeks) so fingers crossed. Thanks again for taking the time to reply. It's good to hear a great ending. Xx
