1st trimester cramps

Hey, I've been getting some light tummy cramps which I know is nothing to worry about, but can anyone tell me how long they stay for? Is it just a first trimester thing? I'm not quite 7 weeks yet and I'm already getting less cramps than a week or two ago so I'm guessing that's also normal?  No bleeding or anything - just hungry all the time!

Hi congratulations, I was very much like yourself at the start and also had a lot of stretching pains but they past. This is my first pregnancy and I'm expecting twins. Being pregnant for me had meant bit of discomfort in places I wasn't expecting, but nothing sinister. Just remember your aren't alone and you have your midwife and us on here for extra support. ☺

Thank you so much, I was sure it was ok but didn't want to take chances. I haven't got my first midwife appointment until the week after next so it's a bit scary not feeling all that well informed or supported just yet. It's agony waiting for that first scan!! Xx

Yes it certainly is ☺ when I went for my first scan I was a wreck. It was a man who did my first scan and his English wasn't the best. He kept moving the scanner across my belly and I was getting anxious then all of a sudden he said "well you have two babies in there!!" I was 13 wks 4 days at my first scan.

I'm just worried they're going to say I'm not pregnant at all and it's all been a huge mistake! Still have at least 5 weeks to wait and I'm already going nuts! X

I was exactly the same lol. Up till now as twins I've been having a scan every two weeks and I still get anxious ☺

Hi! I'm feeling exactly the same about my scan. I'm 10+3 and I've got another two weeks to wait. Like you I've been having twinges and extremely bad back pain really low down. I keep thinking what if nothings growing and they say I was wrong... When I told the midwife  at my first appt last week she smiled and said that first little test I did that was positive is good enough for them to say I'm pregnant....

Two weeks of wondering to wait!!!!! Plus we're not telling any body (other than my work boss to get the time off for appts) til we have the scan pic so it really is an agonising wait! X

It's quite isolating isn't it? I'm struggling with exhaustion and mood swings and it's really hard not to be able to explain my craziness to my work colleagues yet!

I'm totally terrified about seeing the midwife next Monday as well. My best friend died a couple of years ago and I put on loads of weight with depression. I've never managed to get rid of it and I'm scared she's going to be judgemental - I had a horrible experience with a nurse during a smear test once so I'm getting super worked up! My hubby says there's no way he'd let anyone treat me like that but I'm still scared she'll tell me I've put my baby at risk and make me feel like a bad person :( Are midwives generally quite nice?

I had heard different experiences with midwives, some abrupt and judgemental, whereas a lot of people said the midwives were fantastic. I was a bit worried, but the lady I saw was lovely and I got on with her really well

Sorry, that's not much help..  Unfortunately it'll be a case of wait and see....

yes I think mine wore off around week 7/8. I don't remember feeling much after that until I felt flutters a lot later on!

I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant too, meeting with midwife in two weeks too. In my 5th week I experienced uncomfortable cramps and have had lots of discharge. My belly is making lots of strange gurgle noises. Now on my 6th week Im still getting cramps however they are not as bad. I did three pregnancy tests they were all positive! I'm still in shock, I think once I have my first scan it will all sink in
