Hi all, on the 24th July I had a surgical miscarriage we found out on the 22nd of july after a week of spotting our little one had died I was 13 weeks pregnant, all my symptoms of being pregnant stopped around 9 weeks but my body didn't seem to want to let go of our baby, its been 4 weeks and I've just received my 1st period since all this happened, I guess I was just wondering if anyone else out there has had a healthy pregnancy after wards I know I'm going to worry everyday if I get pregnant again, my consultant/surgeon said I should be fine and go on to have a healthy pregnancy. I've got 5 wonderful children already and each pregnancy was fine this was my 1st miscarriage and I've never felt a loss like it, it broke my heart.

I guess I'm terrified of trying again but I'm desperate to complete our family xx

My first pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage. Me and my husband were going to wait until my next cycle to try again but I got pregnant again two weeks later. We were obviously more relaxed as we were not focused on getting pregnant! I was anxious up until the scan then again up to the anomaly scan as I was constantly thinking something would go wrong but it didn't! Now my son is almost six weeks old!

Every pregnancy is different I was told which is reassuring!!

I'm sorry to hear of your experience but do take heart that each pregnancy is a new one and totally different.

I had a missed miscarriage with my first pregnancy and found out at 10 weeks as I had some spotting, the baby had stopped growing at 6 weeks. I had the operation to remove as I felt I wanted to get over things without waiting for the imminent to happen. I felt totally disheartened at trying again and we waited quite a while before TTC again.

My second pregnancy was textbook with no issues at all and my son was 2 on Thursday 😊.

I'm currently TTC for no 2 so fingers crossed.

Good luck for the future and completing your family xxx

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Rest assured most women who have miscarriages go on to have healthy pregnancies. I'm testament to that. I lost my first child last March at 20 weeks, and gave birth 3.5 weeks ago to my perfectly healthy little girl.

I would say, give yourself time to grieve and heal, it is devastating, especially because there is usually no apparent reason behind it.

Sending best wishes your way x

it doesn't matter how many healthy children you already have, a miscarriage will always be such a terrible thing to go through. My sympathies go out to you. xx you have successfully carried before though so there is every reason to have faith that the next pregnancy will go well. good luck :)

I had a miscarriage in 2010, and then fell pregnant again less then 6 months later, and had a totally straightforward pregnancy and healthy baby. That was 4 years ago, and since then have had twin boys who are 7 months old now!! I think it is quite common for first pregnancies to miscarry. Good luck I'm sure things will work out for you both! xx

Hi Georgina

I totally empathise with your loss and i'm so sorry to hear you have been through this. I have had 2 missed miscarriages in 12 months and although we fall pregnant immediately, it has been an incredibly upsetting year. I had ops both times and as you have no tests until the 3rd time, I have no explanation why. I am really pleased to tell you that as of today, I am 10 weeks pregnant with a very healthy baby - we have had scans throughout to reassure us that this is really happening. There are many reasons for miscarriages and for missed miscarriages also, but try to take comfort that this is not unusual at all. I am struggling to enjoy pregnancy as i'm so frightened something will go wrong but with every check-up and scan, it gets easier. I found a huge amount of info here:

miscarriageclinic.co.uk/pro...

miscarriageclinic.co.uk/new...

stylist.co.uk/life/miscarriage

I was about to embark on tests at this clinic when I fell pregnant but my honest advice to you is this: Hold tight, let nature take it's course and ensure you hold each other tight as you grieve and try to get through this.

I wish you the best of luck x x x
