High prolactine and need to get pregnant

Hi I just found out that my prolactine level is high.I was put on bromocriptine.does any one know how effective it is..anyone with similar experience

Hi,

It should reduce your prolactin levels. Are you taking it to help you get pregnant, because otherwise I'd say talk to your doctor as our clearly says not to take if you are trying to get pregnant and to stop if you become pregnant.

I would currently like to be able to get pregnant, but I'm breastfeeding and my prolactin levels are still so high I have had no return of periods. Posts with more detail about your history and hopes/worries tend to get more responses, so maybe try adding a bit?

The doctor say because my prolactine level is so high it is hard for me to get pregnant...so that is why she put me on bromocriptine to lower it..thank craftingfoxcub

Hi,craftingfoxcub,I have irregular periods and sometimes none at all,so the doctor put me on bromocriptine to lower my prolactine level..I hope it works and I will be able to get pregnant.. Fingers cross😊😊😁

Hi. I have been on bromocriptine for about two years now. It took a while to get my levels stable, but they have been ok for a while now. I got pregnant nearly two years ago now, but miscarried at 6 weeks. Dr said it did not have anything to do with prolactin, but I am not quite sure. Research seems to suggest women with high prolactin miscarry more easily, potentially due to not making enough progesterone. I went to a feet specialist, who told me to have progesterone if I ever got pregnant again. I haven't, though, so we are about to start ivf

Hi lady123,how high was ur prolactine level and what was ur daily dosage?My level was over a 1000
