no sleep!

shattered! is anyone else struggling to sleep?! im 16+4 and trying to get a full nights sleep is just pointless. As soon as my other half makes any sort of noise or motion I'm wide awake and struggle to get back to sleep! This is getting ridiculous, to the point we slept in separate rooms last night and his snoring through the wall STILL woke me up :-(

I hate to tell you but since I got pregnant that was the last night I got a full months sleep! Then the baby arrived.. She's now 13 months and starting to sleep through the night some days so only now am I getting more sleep! I like to think pregnancy is natures way of preparing you ;)

I'm 16 weeks too and have had this on and off for months. It sounds a bit daft but can I recommend Boots wax earplugs? They block everything out and whenever my husband is snoring and I can't get back to sleep I pop them in and always drift off! Good luck! X

Its not good is it! I'm just short of 40 weeks and am lucky if I get two hours sleep a night. The boyfriend has emigrated to the spare room until our girl arrives as I'm up and down all night, or wriggling around trying to get comfy. He's been in there most of the pregnancy to be honest. 😊 my biggest mistake is going to bed at 'bedtime'. Bedtime doesn't exist for you anymore, listen to when your body is tired and go to bed then. I'm often in bed when the boyfriend gets in from work at 5 ish and get up about 7 until I need more sleep. Rest plenty! Its hard work growing a person. X

thank you very much ladies.. the things that no one tells you about their 'wonderful pregnancies' until you talk to them about it... then 'oh yeah'............. lol i am gonna try the earplugs and the pillow!xx

Yeah same for me except in my case it is usually either pain in my hips or hunger that wakes me up. I'm afraid I don't buy into the 'its natures way of preparing you' story and am getting really fed up of hearing that when all I want is sympathy!! If nature had that much sense we would be able to sleep through pregnancy and feel refreshed when it came to birth.

For me I find eating carbs right before bed helps, and propping myself up on loads of pillows. I bought a pregnancy pillow but only used it once - useless for me. I prefer to just have 4 normal pillows behind my back and sleep kind of upright.

If I wake up in the night still then I get up. I don't lie in bed feeling frustrated and trying to sleep. I watch a bit of telly then go back to bed when I feel ready to doze off again.
