They went notice if you don't get them anything. You could get them your favourite childhood book to read together, or put a few pounds in a savings account fit them. I'm not going to buy anything for my baby for Christmas, he'll be 6 months and isn't interested. He'll enjoy seeing family, but he doesn't need gifts, and other people will give him gifts anyway.

What does your lo like playing with when you go to groups? I bought my lg a doll and pushchair for her first birthday because she loved playing with them at the baby groups we went to. Is he walking yet? Do you have a walker for him? Encourage imaginative play with a kitchen, garage or similar. Get creative and buy some art supplies. My daughter's godmother bought her some paint, brushes and a painting apron - they say from 36 months but as long as they're supervised and don't eat it, it's fine. Enjoy.

I bought educational toys and books, etc for my son on his 1st bday. He also got clothes from others, vouchers for his first real shoes which he now has as he is walking and a chair from his uncle. He has loads of toys now so other than the few bits Santa will bring for Christmas, I'll be asking people for vouchers so I can buy what he needs next year when he needs it and money for his savings x
