Missed period after stopping the mini pill.

Hi. Im 18 years old and have stopped using the mini pill Cerazette after 6 months as it was completely not working with my body. (I'd been on the combined pill before for about a year before hand also). With the cerazette pill I'd miss periods and get some every two weeks and then had a four week period. But now after stopping (a month ago) I haven't had an actual period. I had a little spotting for a couple days after. (Withdrawal bleed maybe?) But nothing since. I'm feeling the period symptoms (bloating, tender boobs etc. .) But nothing as of yet. I can't be pregnant as my boyfriend and I have used condoms both times since not being on the pill and he has pulled out each time (we've been extra cautious).

Can someone help my dilemma? :)

It takes a while for the pill to completely leave your system. When I came off of mine, it took three months to get a period. You could have that. It can also create faux - pregnancy symptoms ad it is hormones.

I took cerazette as birth control for years and it took a year for my period to settle down after coming of it. My husband and I used condomss as birth control in the mean time. It was common during the year for me to skip bleeding but still suffer from other period symptoms, mood swings, breast tenderness, bloating etc.

Yes it sounds like your system is still rebalancing itself. It can take quite a while after you stop taking the pill. Basically, hormonal contraception works by mimicking hormone levels of pregnancy, so your body stops ovulating. So it takes a while for your cycle to get back to normal. You are wise to be careful though if you don't want to get pregnant as you could ovulate and become pregnant before getting another period. Hope you find a method of contraception that suits you soon!

Hi, I'm 18 and I had been on Cerelle because my periods were ridiculously heavy and I thought it would help. I took it for about 2 months everyday, like I was supposed to. I ended up having sex and we didn't use a condom, but he pulled out both times. About 2 weeks after this, I took myself off the pill as it didn't feel right not having periods. However, 3 weeks after coming off it, I've still not got my period. I'm getting all the signs too but my friends all told me to get a pregnancy test, just to be safe.
