Hiya. Well you can keep your skin moisturised and use something like bio oil throughout. Also keeping well hydrated can possible help. However, it's hard to know if anything really helps as it tends to be down to skin type as to whether you will get stretch marks or not.....I used bio oil every night, moisturised every morning and drank loads of water and I ended up completely covered with stretch marks all over my entire belly :-( They also say it's hereditary and if your mum got them, you will too. I'd take that with a pinch of salt though.....my mum had 4 pregnancies and no stretch marks at all so wasnt the case for me lol. :-) x

I didn't get any #smugsmile. I did use bio oil but not religiously so don't know if that helped or not. To be honest, I think if you are going to get them you will regardless of what products are out there claiming to prevent or reduce. x

I hate to be the devils advocate here but I honestly believe no matter how we try ( as mother or mothers to be) there's no possible way we can stop stretch marks from their appearance.

( especially during pregnancy)

There's definitely a few ways in which you can prevent the stretch marks from spreading by using a good moisturizer but believe me after the birth of 2 kids ( last one 3 months old), I've tried absolutely everything from body butter to bio oil & still no luck :)

Keeping your skin moisturised will help with the condition of the surface of your skin but stretch marks occur deep within the layers of the skin so I don't see how any cream can have an effect unfortunately as nothing penetrated that deeply into the skin. If there was a cream/oil that actually worked then no one would ever get stretchmarks lol it's just down to your genes and skin type really. Use a good moisturiser and hope for the best :) xx

Hello! I just used General body moisturizer, figured if I'm going to get them, I will, no matter what i use!! I didn't get one tiny mark until I actually gave birth! When is had my son I had a Little cluster above my left hip. Figured it was because of forceps and the fact that my placenta was retained so the doc had to go fetch it!! :/

7 months down the line I have left them alone, not put any cream or oil on and they are barely noticeable! Xx

Hi I did not get any stretch marks and I think the key is to not gain too much weight too quickly. Also keep your skin moisturised I used bio oil on my tummy and used Aveno body was for dry skin to ensure I wasn't using body wash that would dry out my skin.

Hi there, I used Waitrose baby butter, it worked a treat for me. I didn't get one stretch mark. I applied it liberally every morn and eve.......I did try bio oil and a couple of other oils initially, the Waitrose butter was the only thing that gave me relief from the stretching feeling and soooo much cheaper too!!! I am not convinced SM are hereditary as my mums stomach is covered. Hope that helps. Good luck! X

I used bio-oil, was great but got some in the last couple of weeks! Would definitely use it again though. If you look on the boots website there's often a promo on as is quite expensive.
