Could it be oral thrush and nothing to do with milk?

Google some images for tongue thrush in babies as I just did x

It's only on his tongue thou and does look like thick milk? X

Yh it can look like a thick layer of milk if it's thrush. Babies can get milk mouth and so their tongue go white....if you to wipe it away, does it come off? I'd be inclined if it's thick to maybe check with a doctor and rule out oral thrush x

The pics show it just on the tongue too, am just putting the idea forward as is very common in babies unfortunately and you mentioned thinking it was sore X

My baby and I experienced thrush with breast feeding....he did not get a white tongue, but I do recall in one nappy change his bottom looked fine, the next nappy change OMG it looked like I had neglected to take care of his bottom, it was bright red, I was mortified. Thrush will effect both ends of the GI track.

Hope you get some answers at the GP's today X

Yeh agree with the girls. .get a gp appt sounds like thrush. Hopefully it gets dorted asap x

Although I agree with everything that's already been said you could try cleaning you're baby's tongue with some glycerol by using the corner of a clean muslin cloth.

Glycerol is sold in most pharmacies these days for about £2.50

My little boy had it, due to a tongue tie and the way he was feeding to adapt to it xxxx

I've had oral thrush as an adult n i looked like a furry tongue :-(. Could also scrape it off n made food taste strange. Was very itchy :-( so if babe has it, I'd imagine they wouldn't be too happy :-(.

it could be tongue thrush. Look on the internet for images of thrush on the tongue it will lead down to his her bum to. It will go right through, my daughter started with her tongue and it went right through her I had antibiotics from the doctors, or put boiled water in a bottle leave it cool and give it to her see if her tongue clears. If it doesn’t it could well be thrush! hope I helped x
