My 3 months baby only burps when hold up

Does anyone has the similar experience? My baby boy wriggles and cry to burp, and we have to hold him up so he can do it otherwise he will cry as in pain. Also last night he was moaning, winging and crying just with wind. He's 3 months now so maybe he will improve?

Every newborn baby usually needs some help to bring up their wind after being fed.

By you holding him up you are helping the wind to travel through his tummy to then enter out of his mouth so this is absolutely normal yes.

Hey. Yep all little bubbas need to be held upright to help them burp as Abenaa has said. My son is almost 19 weeks and even when he does a couple of big burps, he can still from time to time get uncomfy when laying down, I pick him up and he burps in my face lol!! As they get older, they will need less help. But for a while yet they will need to be thoroughly winded before laying down x

Yeh as the girls hav said babies generally need to be upright to burp..I usually just put him over my shoulder and do it tht way but about 75% of the time he burps on his own.

Mine used to be a cracking little burper but recently she is holding on to it. Sometimes all I have to do is go to hold her up straight and she lets one out but it usually takes a while now. She doesn't seem to have problems with the bottom burps though - she is a right little trumper (takes after her father in that department lol)

Yes, if you don't help them then almost certainly won't get it up himself. My LO has to have her back rubbed whilst she is over my shoulder or by holding her upright and guving her a jiggle. Sometimes it is really hard to get her to burp. Sounds like your LO has colic, you could try giving him infacol before each feed, it makes the wind consolidate into one or two big burps that are easier to get up.
