Hi hun my lo is almost 8 months now and my hair has only just stopped falling out so ive had it cut and its been fine so far. Its soohhorrible seeing all that hair in the plughole etc but hopefully it will ease soon. Im not sure what you can do other than take vitamins to try to give yourself a boost and strengthen your hair xx

Erm I have no idea lol I didnt take anything as I know it eventually stops but might be worth asking in local pharmacy xx

I don't was mine as often and only blow dry and straighten it when I'm going somewhere! I feel like it's never going to stop but I know it's re generating too because when I dye it one box only just covers my roots so I know it's still fairly thick! I asked the doc when I went for something else and she said there is nothing you can do/take to stop it :( x

I hav only blow dried it 3 times..my hair is super thick but I do hav a little patch right on top of my head and it looks really thin. X

I've only blow dried mine a couple of times too. Makes no odds :-( x

I've got really fine hair and not a lot of it either lol. It falls out and is literally everywhere. I'm constantly pulling hairs off James, the bed, my boyfriends facial hair where it seems to get weaved in haha!! Can't really afford to lose mine! It wasn't great before pregnancy though either xx

I kno..toby gets well pissed off its everywhere. .I just changed finley and it was on his tummy lol. X

in reply to

Lol. I always have a huge chunk when I wash my hair as well. When I chuck it in the loo to flush, looks like there is a mouse in there lol xx

Blimey, I never really thought about hair loss. I think mine is fine, I blow dry and straighten every other day! I also take Pregnacare Breast Feeding Vitamins (cheaper on amazon of course) I don't think mine is falling out, just get breakage like I would have pre pregnancy Xx

Its horrible. .I literally hav a golf ball size amount in the mornings tht ends up in the bin. Might look into taking vitamins as its horrible. .I kno its the 9 months worth where my hair got really thick during pregnancy x

That sounds like a lot of hair. I'm not going to say its the vitamins but they might help as its 2 types, you get the Omega 3 as well. I had great nails at the end of pregnancy then they all just broke :-( might well be this time if year and no sunlight Xx

in reply to cheekymonkey3791

I will look into vitamins this week. .I hav fake nails so they r probably in a state too lol. X

I thought mums didn't hairdry as its a time thing not a don't do thing. I must be lucky then as my hair has been subjected to say 60 blow dry and straightenings! I wash & condition and maybe do intense conditioner once every other week and use heat protection spray.

And miss you know I have taken the vits as mentioned before Xx

in reply to cheekymonkey3791

Lol my hair is still super thick and takes 30 mins to blowdry and about 15 to straighten which is time I dont often get..wud rather eat lol. Xx

My eldest was about 5 months when mine started falling out, I've never known anything like it! Literally clumps of it would come out, I've got really long hair so it was everywhere. It's just the extra hair that you accumulated during pregnancy falling out - don't worry it will stop before you're bald. Dreading it this time, I have to vacuum enough as it is ;-) x

Yeh am hoovering every day as my hair is dark and my carpets r cream and aswell as a fluffy cat our house is hairy lol x

I was losing my hair before I got pregnant so this is something I was really dreading :( I'm almost 10 weeks post birth and I could tell that more hair was falling almost immediately after the birth. Before I started losing my hair a couple of years ago, I used to wash, blowdry and straighten every day; now it's every other day. I have naturally curly hair (bad 80's style perm look) and only ever let it dry naturally if I'm not going out anywhere lol

I've tried all sorts of vitamins and hair products over the past 2 years and nothing will prevent it from falling out. If you get really conscious you could get a hair fibre product to help conceal any thinning patches. I use Nanogen. xx

You might try taking silica gel supplements, probably available from holland and Barrett. Prevents or slows hair loss when you aren't pregnant so might work. Wouldn't recommend the liquid as it tastes vile!

That's what I plan to do as I have rubbish hair and don't want it to go back! Xx

when you deliver a baby you don't touch your hair for the first three months. After that you can blow dry, set, relax etc your hair,if not your hair will be ripped off.

in reply to blackmadona

I haven't done any of tht. .dont hav time!! Its been blow dried 3 times in nearly 5 months. All I do is wash it and put it in a bun and theres people on here above who hav done all tht and not lost their hair..it happens to the majority as u can see..

in reply to

I didn't do anything with my hair for months just wash and naturally dry in a bun or ponytail and its still falling out!!
